Dirty Girty and a Brand New Song

Hey there, Bestie!

I have been saving this seat jussst for you!

As you know, we met at a "coffee shop in Rio" (at least in my imagination, lol) in the last edition of this blog. Today, I figured we'd hang out in the sun at this gorgeous tropical spot, overlooking some of the most perfect water I've ever seen! Wild imagination, but hey! It could be true- some day, right?

So first things first. How has your week been coming along? Have you had a chance to enjoy any of the goodies that I shared the last time we chatted? If so, what have been some of your faves?

Did you get a chance to vote in the poll from the last newsletter?

Well cool beans...

Now that we're all caught up, it's time for some new convo!

Speaking of polls and speaking of "play", let's talk about playing in dirt!

Are you down to get a little dirty, Girty? Get it?... Hands, soil, gloves, planting seeds... Awkward silence? Bad dad joke? Lol... Ok, ok... I'll leave the stand up comedy to the pro's! But tell me this: Which of you guys out there are plant moms and dads, which of you guys prefer outdoor gardening, and which of you (like me), just don't seem to be gifted with a "green thumb".

Have a little fun and let us know where you're at with it by chiming in on this week's poll!

Since it's "Throwback Thursday", here's a pic of my plant babies and I!

Proud parents almost ALWAYS love to show off pics of their babies, right?

Post a pic of your garden or plant babies, then tag me in it so that I can see how beautiful they are!

I can remember when I became a plant mama 2 years ago... I began for therapeutic and selfcare reason. It was such an exciting time! My friend, Kelli Stackhouse, surprised me with a gift to help me out as a new plant mom. She had the cutest little book delivered right to my door and I was most grateful for the "baby shower" gift, lol! When you get a moment, check it out for yourself and even consider gifting it to someone special who's on the plant parent struggle bus like I was, lol.

Speaking of plants and flowers... Several life principles come to mind.

We can think about lessons found in planting seeds and the consistency and patience that is needed in caring for them, nurturing them, and watching them grow to produce what they were created and destined to grow and become.

We can think about the time that it takes in waiting on the harvest.

We can think of the reaping and sowing principle in that, you reap what you sow. You get what you planted. If you plant a lemon tree, you cannot expect to harvest an apple tree from that seed. If you sow a seed of "this", you cannot expect to receive a harvest of "that". If you DO plant "this" you CAN expect to, in time, receive "that", and so forth.

We can think of the fact that seeds grow best when planted in the right environments and in rich soil.

And on and on we could go, right?

On that note, I want to share this with you. My prayer is that you will find value in it and that you will be inspired, encouraged, and uplifted. I hope that you also share it with someone else so that it becomes a gift that keeps on giving.

Y'all know that I am a huge lover of music. My passion for music spans many genres and it's amazing how it is such a universal language! That said, I gotta mention this song to you and see if you're feeling it like I am! FRIENDDDDUH... Have you heard Eric Roberson's song called "Lessons"? Oh my gosh, if you haven't already, you gotta check it out!

The storyline somewhat reminds me of the one being told in Rascal Flatts' song entitled "Bless the Broken Road". In either case, the songs are perfect for a single gal like me who is remaining hopeful that love will come at the most surprising, unplanned time, and that when it does, everything along the journey will begin to make more sense and prove to have been necessary for the sweet and precious gift of true love that awaits.

Speaking of la-la-looove... I have found a show that I have truly enjoyed watching on my Sundays! Sundays have been the day that I reserve for rest, relaxation, spending time goofing off with my family, taking random road trips, brunching, etc.

Though I rarely watch television (with the exception of cartoons and old Punky Brewster episodes with my baby girl, lol), a commercial came on for a show called Bob Hearts Abishola. You guys!! I love it! It's so fun, so lighthearted, and it tickles me when I tune in, lol. If you haven't checked it out, please do so. And if you have, in the comments, let me know what you think of it!

As a podcaster, author, and publisher, I help others tell their stories, share their expertise, and build their brands by working with them to write and publish their own books and launch their own podcasts.

That said, in podcasting and book writing, storytelling is important.

In an effort to help you guys begin thinking about what you might share in your own book or on your own podcast, I have been intentional about providing you with journaling prompts for the past couple of weeks.

Recently, I made this post. I would absolutely love to hear your responses!

Please share them within the comments section on the post so that you can help someone else along the way as they scroll and see the value and wisdom that you have left there.

One of theeeee best compilations of personal narratives that I have ever read are found within the pages of Oprah Winfrey's book entitled, "What I Know for Sure". This book is filled with one gem after another of mother's wit and wisdom. Reading this book back in 2014/2015 (?) was such a healing, therapeutic experience for me! I learned so much from this amazing woman and I felt as though she was speaking directly to me with love as a caring mother or aunt would do. The notes that I took are too numerous and too personal to share, but just know this: if you decide to pick this book up, you will not want to put it down! Unnnkayyy?! Hey, I'm just sayin'...

Mother's Day is coming up and this would be such a special gift to someone who no longer has their mother. Someone who craves the love, the wisdom, the guidance that only a mom, aunt, or grandma can share sometimes. This book is one that is near and dear to my heart, and it is one that I will always treasure.

For moms, aunties, and grannies who have tons of wisdom and wit to share as they are always on their soapboxes... give them the gift of their own platform so that they can positively impact the lives and hearts of many! Help them launch their own podcast! This cutie will certainly be a favorite and is so easy to read, digest, understand, and take action from!

This is also a great gift for graduates, business besties, and anyone who has something amazing, wise, insightful, or humorous to share with the world! They deserve the opportunity to tell their stories, share their expertise, and build their personal or professional brand!

As I bring this party to a close, I want to wish each of you a Happy Good Friday and a Happy Resurrection Sunday! I want you to remember this: I love you. I hope that YOU love you. And Jesus loves us both more and He loves us best.

Thank you for checking in with a Sista and I look forward to doing it again next week, y'all!

Be good to yourself. Be good to others. Love, light, and blessings to you! -Tiff
